Days passed and Minhwan grew colder towards me and I couldn't help but feel hurt. What had happened? We were so happy together and everything was fine … maybe he felt that I had feelings for him and this was his way to reject me. I was about to cry when someone knocked at my door, I rushed to open it. “Minhwan!!!” I yelled in happiness but realised it was JongHun.
“Sorry it’s not Minhwan…” he said.
”Ah that’s ok… I’m seeing him less these days … he might be really busy.” I replied.
JongHun smiled “let’s go eat” he said.
I was very hungry so I accepted his invitation. We went out eating and we talked about lots of things; he was a charming guy and unless you’re blind you can’t not fall for him- but I couldn’t, Minhwan took all the places in my heart so much that I couldn’t stop thinking about him.
“By the way I got a car,” said JongHun “let’s go to the beach, it’s really beautiful at night.” “Alone?” I thought.
“…with the other members.” he added as if he had heard what I thought.
“Sure.” I replied.
In the car Minhwan was silent, even when I had tried to talk to him he replied quickly and neutrally. He was sitting in the front seat whilst I was in the back, with JongHun, Wonbin and Jaejin beside me.
Arriving at the beach, the guys started playing; Minhwan was sitting a little far away while Jonghun was beside me.
“Are you cold?” he asked as he saw me shivering.
“No, I’m fine.” he smiled and put his jacket over my shoulder then stood up and told me “Let’s go.”
“To where?”
“There is something I need to show you...” we went a little bit far out but I could still see Minhwan.
“You can see clearly the stars here.” he said, it was right we were looking at the stars and then he leaned slowly towards me.
Meanwhile, Minhwan couldn’t help but looking at them, JongHun was going to kiss the girl he liked. Can he really let him? He had let jay take her and he was going to let JongHun as well... Then something came to his mind, he never fought for the girl he liked, why did he always let someone else steal her from his hand? He had to do something. He stood up and rushed towards them.
Suddenly I saw a falling star. “Make a wish” he said.
“I wish that Minhwan won’t abandon me” I wished, silently...suddenly, JongHun leaned towards me before I could even understand what was going to happen, Minhwan grabbed my arm and said “I’m sorry Hyung, I can’t let you.” and then he pulled me far, very far away from JongHun. JongHun smiled “HongKi, Are you satisfied now?”
I was looking at Minhwan with interrogating eyes
“Do you like JongHun?” he asked me.
“Why? What if I liked him? What does it have to do with you?” I replied angrily-Minhwan had made me so sad that I felt frustration towards him. He made a sarcastic laugh then looked away with his red and teary eyes.
“You can’t like him!! Or...”
“Or what? What’s gonna happen if I like him and why do you care? It’s none of your business."
“Oh it certainly is.”
“I still can’t understand why you changed your attitude towards me… you don’t know how much it made me upset.”
I said this while tears were about to fall down on my face when I turned away to leave. I didn’t want him to see my tears. He strongly grabbed my arm and kissed me passionately. I couldn’t believe it, I slowly closed my eyes. He moved away his face gently and said:
“Don’t go… don’t go away from me.”
I was speechless, and then he added
“I’m sorry… I broke our Noona-donsaeng relationship”,
“Minhwan do you…”,
“…”
he shyly looked away and then he looked back in my eyes
“Shinae, saranghae”
I was shocked
“Minhwan likes me too!!”
“Can we just… just stay the way we used to be? I don’t want to lose you” he said sadly.
“Minhwan…” I grabbed him by his collar and I pulled him towards me; when his face was just in front of mine, I gave him a peck. His eyes grew bigger.
“We’re an insane Noona-donsaeng couple” I joked.
He laughed and then he hugged me.
“Ah I was finally happy”.
CLAP CLAP CLAP… we looked behind us, it was the rest of FT Island clapping.
“That was really beautiful.” said HongKi in a sarcastic squeaky voice
“You can thank Hongki, it was all because of him” added WonBin.
“What??” We both asked in shock.
“We played a prank on you guys , it was taking too much time for you to date so we had to help you out.” Hongki proudly said .
“So does it mean that JongHun hyung doesn’t …”
“No I don’t have any feelings toward your Shinae.” said JongHun.
“Ahh I’m really relieved.” said Minhwan.
“I really feel like I was manipulated.” I said in a sulky voice.
They all laughed. “We are going to that restaurant over there so we will leave you, I think you guys have a lot to talk about.” stated HongKi.
We both felt shy. They went away leaving Minhwan and I alone. We both laid on the sand watching the sky.
“Let’s play truth or dare,” said Minhwan “But without dare.” he added.
“Then truth or truth.”
He laughed.
“Yeah.”
“Go ahead, you start asking.” I told him.
“Since when did you get interested in me?”
I smiled and after a small moment I replied “I think it was when we went to where you practice but back then I was denying my feelings.”
“At that time you were with Jay…”
“Yeah … I confirmed my feelings for you when we were on the plane.”
“Not a long time ago then.”
“Yup… what about you?”
“Well… it was when I first met you…” he said shyly.
“Really??” I said in shock, “that was months and months ago!”
“Yes.” he replied.
“So it means …” I got lots of flash backs Minhwan suffered a lot because of me and got involved in too many troubles I felt instantly bad then.
“I’m sorry Minhwan…”
“That’s ok…” he said smiling “let’s forget about the past.”
I smiled
“Why do you like me?” he asked
“Because… you’re very cheerful always happy, you know how to cheer me up and whenever I think about you, you bring me happiness.” and then I added “And you?”
“I still don’t know why… But I want to stay beside you.” after a silent moment he added “Let’s play dare or dare.”
I laughed “Ok go ahead.”
“I dare you to always stay beside me and never leave.”
I laughed joyfully “I promise.” we linked our fingers.
Another week passed, I had to go back to Korea leaving Minhwan in Japan.
-In the airport-
“I’ll be back soon” he said.
“Yeah… I’ll call you when I reach Korea.”
“OK~”
Back in Korea, she felt emptiness without Minhwan’s presence, she missed him a lot even though he always texted her at night since he couldn't during the daytime because of his busy schedule. She wanted to tell everything to Hyeo but since Minhwan is an Idol she can’t say a word about it, even to her best friend. As soon as she reached Korea she met with Hyeo and Hiro so they went together to a café near to the airport.
“So you’ve been to Japan”, said Hyeo enviously.
“Yeah” I answered.
“Minhwan was with you?” questioned Hiro who totally forgot about Hyeo’s presence. I gave him a stare which made him understand that he shouldn’t talk about Minhwan.
“No … I don’t know… erm.. no he wasn’t with me..” I stuttered.
“You sound nervous.” stated Hyeo as if she was suspecting something.
“No..no I’m not nervous…” I replied while my eyes were trying to avoid her then I immediately drank from my lemon juice.
To change the subject Hiro said “Did you visit Shibuya? It’s really great there I often hang out there.”
“Yeah I’ve been there twice… but I enjoyed Akihabara and Harajuku.”
Hyeo’s phone started ringing, she hung up right after a brief conversion then she said “I got to go, my new boyfriend is waiting for me.“
“Ok… see you girl.“ I said
After she left, Hiro looked at me with his smiling eyes and then he asked me the question that he wanted to ask since he saw me : “Minhwan and you… are you??”
“Are we what?” I stuttered “we are nothing” I added all confused I drank again from my juice.
He gave a small smile then he added “Cousin, you can’t hide anything from your ‘niichan', I can tell when you’re hiding something.”
Was it too easy to read through me? I kept looking at my lemon juice and wasn’t able to say anything.
“I knew Minhwan way before he became an Idol, so he is like my little donsaeng…” he said “You're both are dating right?”.
I was unable to say anything.
“So I conclude its true then.” I nodded my head as a yes.
He looked at me feeling all satisfied “Ah that's great!! I knew it.”
“When will he come back to Korea?” he asked.
“In May I think” I said all disappointed. “It’s still extremely far" I added.
“I think it’s better this way.” he said as I looked at him with inquisitive eyes. “It means that until May he won’t be involved in any scandals!” he giggled.
“Yah!! What do you mean?”
“You attract problems.” he replied after a small silence, he was right maybe it was the best thing that could happen.
After a silent moment, I felt like Hiro was lost in his thoughts.
“What’s wrong Hiro?” I asked.
He looked at his watch and without even replying he said “It’s time for me to go too, sorry I should spend more time with you but there is something I need to do”.
I looked at him surprised Hiro was the kind of boy who doesn’t care about anything and he never took anything seriously so it was kinda weird.
“Oh ..” I said “You have a girlfriend?” I asked all curious.
He smiled at me and replied “It’s not like that.” and then he left.
“Ah.” I sighed, everybody seem busy with their personal life-I kinda envied them. I wish that Minhwan was here and I could go out on a date without caring about others.

I was in my apartment because the recording was taking too much time; I wanted to call Minhwan but I knew it was useless since he had switched off his cell phone.
“The manager told me that after they finish filming, all they have to do is to come here… it didn’t take me too much time so I wonder why they are so late.”
I heard some noise coming from outside.
“It might be them!” Someone knocked on my door I opened it, it was Minhwan,
“We still have one last scene to film and then that’s it, I’ll come as soon as we finish.”
“Ok.” I said.
“By the way we bought some food so later we can eat together ok?”
“Ok.” I said again and he quickly left.
From my apartment I could hear the FT boys-they were very noisy but in a cute way… I waited and waited until I fell asleep on the sofa. Two hours later, Minhwan opened the door and the sound of the door opening woke me up.
“Are you finished recording?” I said in a sleepy voice.
“Yeah... Sorry I made you wait a long time… let’s go eat outside now.”
“I’m a little tired,” I said “let’s buy some instant noodle.”
“Oh we already bought a lot…wait a moment,” he went and got a huge amount of instant noodle pots with different flavors “which one is your favorite?” he asked
“Chicken.”
“Chicken?” he asked surprised “That’s my favorite too! I love chicken.”

A whole week passed; Minhwan was busy with his recording… So I had to spend most of my time in my apartment. As I couldn’t speak Japanese, I didn’t go outside because I knew I would easily get lost.
One morning Minhwan knocked on my door. I opened it and he said in a joyful tone “We don’t have anything to do today so let’s hang out together!!”
“Finally!!” I thought “Yeah I’ll get myself ready, wait for me.” I answered.
Outside, I was about to cross the street but Minhwan quickly grabbed my shoulder and pulled me in his arms before I could understand anything he said;
“You’re so clumsy, didn’t you see that car? It was about to hit you.”
“Uh? A car … no I didn’t see it …thanks for saving me.” ^^’
“Uuh” he sighed, “What are you going to do without me?” he added, smiling.
I smiled back. As we were trying to cross the street he held my hand tightly and led me till we were at the other side of the road. I felt my heart sinking as it started beating so fast. “Minhwan...What should I do?” I thought “If you keeping acting like this … I might fall in love with you…”
“Why are you so quiet?” He asked.
“I’m not quiet … It’s just…”
At that moment we saw the FT boys coming toward us.
“Hey where are you going? ...” asked WonBin,
“… Without us?” added HongKi, they laughed while Minhwan felt annoyed.
“Wanna come with us?” I suggested,
“Yeah!!” said JongHun.
First we went to a café. “Did you know that these past few weeks Minhwan has gotten lots of inspiration and has written the lyrics for two songs?” Said HongKi.
“Really?? Whoa that’s really good Minhwan.”
“Thanks” he said in a shy voice.
“Lately he’s been interested in English,” added HongKi “and both of the songs are in English.”
“I wonder why…” said JongHun in a sarcastic voice, they all laughed but I was clueless about what was funny about writing a song in English. Maybe it was their private joke or something like that I thought without giving it much interest.
Then HongKi totally changed the subject as he exclaimed “Oh shall we play truth or dare whilst waiting for the waiter?”
“That sounds a good idea.” said Jonghun
Jaejin took out a pen from his bag.
“We can use this instead of a bottle” he said.
Minhwan sighed “Do we really have to play this game?”
“I really hate this game.” I thought but I didn’t want to annoy them so I didn’t say anything.
“Ok let’s start!” said Hongki as he spun the pen.
The pen slowly stopped and pointed me whilst the other side pointed Minhwan.
“Truth or dare?” asked Hongki.
“Truth.” I replied
“Ok ask her Minhwan.”
Everyone‘s eyes grew widened as we were all curious about his question… Minhwan turned red; then after a moment of thinking he finally asked:
“Do .. you still like that person?”
“Whoa that was personal…” Hongki loudly whispered to WonBin.
“Shut up.” said Minhwan who was even more annoyed.
“Ok ok sorry, I’ll shut my mouth…. You can reply now Shinae”
“Hum …” I didn’t know how to reply since I hadn’t actually thought about Jay since we broke up; Minhwan has been occupying my mind since that almost kiss. “I think I don’t …” I replied after a moment.
“That’s a relief” thought Minhwan as he smiled without me noticing it.
“Ok now …” said Hongki as he twisted once again the pen.
The pen pointed Jaejin while the other side pointed Jonghun
“Truth or dare?”
“Truth” replied Jaejin
“Ok … why do you always wear that same necklace?” asked Jonghun [Author note: If you want to know the story about the necklace read the fan fiction about Jaejin that I’ll post soon :D ]
Jaejin gave a sad look but after a moment he replied “I just like it.”
“Ok next is…” said HongKi “…. Oh I get to ask Shinae a question.”
“Humm…” He started thinking about a mischievous question;
“How far have you been with Minhwan?”
“What??!” Both Minhwan and I asked in shock at the same time.
“Hyung!!” yelled Minhwan.
“What can I reply to such a question” I thought in panic. To be honest, due to my clumsiness and silliness, Minhwan and I slept while hugging, I lied on his shoulder, we almost kissed and a while ago we held hands…come to think about it I had more skin ship with Minhwan than I had with Jay “Aahhhaa I can’t lie what should reply?” T_T
Seeing as I unable to reply, HongKi decided to say “You can switch to dare if you want.”
“Ok I chose dare … I wanted dare since the beginning but you rushed to ask me that question”
“Ok … dare….”
“You should not have chosen dare” said JongHun.
“Kiss Minhwan.” Dared Hongki
“WHAT???” we all asked in shock, even the other members of FT island members couldn’t believe what they heard.
“You’re going a bit too far.” whispered WonBin to HongKi
“I know what I’m doing.” He replied
“HYUNG you’re going too far!” said Minhwan, pissed off
“That’s how it is, what else do you expect from this game?”
“But Hyung… that’s so awkward.”
“Argh guys you’re so boring … let’s stop it" said finally Hongki.
Back home, in the corridor the FT member went to their apartment while Minhwan and I were still outside of mine.
“Sorry about what happened... Sometimes HongKi jokes a little bit too much...”
“That’s ok…” I said as I opened my door
“Ok bye.”
“Bye.”
As he was going, I stopped him “WAIT~” I shouted he turned back I gave him a quick peck on his cheek and I added “I’m sorry I had to do it..” and I ran into my apartment whilst Minhwan was standing still in the corridor, he couldn’t believe that Shinae just kissed him. He touched his cheek and smiled, after a moment he went back to his apartment.
Before Minhwan came back to his apartment,
“You went a little bit too far.” said Jonghun
“You don’t understand? I did it for them that’s how they will get closer.” replied Hongki
“How? You made everything awkward.” added WonBin
HongKi gave a cocky smile and said: “You guys don’t understand, in order to get closer, they need a common enemy which is me, if I annoy both of them they will automatically be in the same team, whilst fighting against their enemy they will get closer, understand?”
“Uuuuh” they sighed altogether.
“We are not talking about a manga here plus it’s not our business, we don’t have to interfere.”
“Knowing Minhwan, he wouldn't do anything about getting closer to Shinae… he needs our help… that’s why we need a plan B."
“A PLAN B??” they all asked.
The next day, they all didn't have a schedule to follow so we went to the places I wanted to visit the most : Akihabara and Harajuku the streets were filled with so many beautifully dressed people. We entered a cosplay shop “Let’s try some cosplay!” I suggested. JongHun tried a prince cosplay and I got to say that he was extremely attractive, while HongKi tried a Naruto’s cosplay with the wig he wore and “the KAGE BUNSHIN NO JUTSU” you could really mistake him for Naruto... WonBin went for something more manly; he wore Trunk’s cosplay, Jaejin was Detective Conan whilst Minhwan and I were still looking for something “What should I dress up as?” asked Minhwan I looked at all the cosplay and then I saw a cute costume, “Pikachu” I said “Pikachu??” I gave him the costume “I will dress as a kitten” I took the cat ears and a costume. Later Minhwan was Pikachu and he was so adorable that without realising, I let out a “Aww… Minhwan you’re the cutest!” and I pinched both of cheeks. Minhwan felt so shy that his face turned completely red and he couldn’t help but hide his face. Later, he saw me wearing the kitten clothes. I chose Tobari’s cosplay-Tobari is a Neko girl in a video game, she has kitty ears, a tail and she wears a short violet dress with thigh high length socks. It was the first time he saw her wearing something umm let’s say sexy… She had long beautiful legs he noticed that the other member and some customers where looking at her “It doesn’t look good.” he said in a jealous way “You look better wearing your own clothes.” He cut off my happiness; why did he say that? It wasn’t the meanest thing to hear but, coming from Minhwan I preferred hearing some compliments “Why? I like it.. Tobari is cute.” I replied “Do whatever you want.” he said.
What was wrong with him?
We left the shop, I felt a little disappointed so I didn’t say anything. JongHun tried consoling me, “Do you wanna listen to music with me?” he said as he handed the earphone to me “Yeah.” I said smiling the song was very familiar it was…
“Plug in baby!!” I said,
“You know that song?" asked JongHun
“Yeah of course, I love Muse” his ipod was full of Muse and Radiohead’s songs. I felt a little nostalgic listening to them again and I started remembering my life in America, my friends and family. I used to spend many of my days listening to the same songs over and over again. My eyes got a little teary as I was listening to 'Unintended' but no one noticed. During the afternoon JongHun was very nice and acted gentlemanly with me. Minhwan felt even more jealous.
Later, we went to a Japanese restaurant to eat.
“I’ll be back.” I said as I went to the washroom.
“You’re getting really close to Shinae” said Minhwan to JongHun after I had left.
“I’m interested in her.” confessed JongHun;
Minhwan was shocked. How could his hyung fall for her … he knew that he liked her ages ago…
“Are you planning to do something?” asked JongHun.
“Actually… I don’t think so…” said Minhwan sadly.
“If you’re not gonna date her...” said HongKi “Let her be with JongHun. It's better that way since no other guys can hurt her like Jay did.” explained HongKi.
He was right thought Minhwan, “JongHun, you better protect her and promise you'll never hurt her.” he said in a unstable voice. It was the best thing he could do; he could trust JongHun...she’ll be happier with him.

Weeks passed by; Jay and I were like perfect strangers-of course after what happened, there were lots of rumors about my relationship with Minhwan but it wasn’t enough to get Minhwan into trouble since there was no evidence. Whilst no one noticed, I kept meeting Minhwan discreetly-sometimes on the top of the roof and sometimes we just go to places where he practices.
In my mind, I kept thinking about that almost kiss and everytime I felt some kind of unknown joy but then I would try to convince myself that he was just trying to console me.
~On the top of the roof~
“What are your plans for the 2 weeks holiday?” asked Minhwan
"Nothing much, you?” I replied
“I have lots of work to do, I’m going to Japan to make our Japanese album.”
“Really?? You’re going to Japan?? Whoa you’re so lucky, I’ve never been there before… don’t forget to bring some pics with you.”
He smiled and then asked:
“Wanna come along?”
“W-well actually…” I stuttered in embarrassment, “I’m having money issues lately...I better find a part-time job”, I thought but I couldn’t say it out loud or I’ll sound lame.
“Actually…”
“Please come… I'm inviting you… I’ll be buried with work so I’ll need someone to get distressed with… Pleaaaseeee?” he said in a cute voice
“How can I refuse to such a cute boy?” I told to myself “Ok.” I replied.
It was very early, around 4am; due to some problems we had to take the first flight. It was a first class plane. I was waiting for Minhwan since we had agreed to meet on the plane. I looked around me, I was the only passenger. Later I heard some voices getting closer. “It might be them”, I thought. It was my first time meeting the members of FT Island, although I had already seen them on TV before. As soon as they got in the plane they introduced themselves altogether.
“Hello we are FT island!”
“Hi I’m Shinae.”
“You’re Choi Minhwan’s girlfriend, right?” Said HongKi
“No!” Yelled Minhwan, ”It’s not like that”
I felt a little sad when I heard Minhwan’s reply.
“That’s ok,” said HongKi. “He often gets shy when we talk about this, you know Minhwan is still very young, he’s not yet experienced so…"
I laughed at what HongKi was saying; he was funny. I saw Minhwan getting all red.
“Can we change the subject?” he requested shyly.
We laughed all together.
During the trip, Minhwan was sitting beside me, JongHun and HongKi were behind us-they were both listening to music, and behind them were Jaejin and WonBin who were both already asleep.
“They must be really tired...” I said as I was looking at them.
“Yeah, they've been working really hard these past few days, we had too many work so we didn’t sleep much.” replied Minhwan . “About what HongKi said…” he added, “They always see me as the young maknae no matter how much I try to act mature” he said in sulky voice.
I smiled at what he said, it just makes him look even younger,
“Even you, you too don’t take me seriously” he added as he saw me smiling.
“Because you’re my donsaeng!” I replied to him.
He gave me a bitter smile.
After a silent moment, I said “But you must be very tired too, you always attend school and you practice very hard too.”
“I’m ok.” he said “I’m used to the pattern.” I looked behind. “Even JongHun and HongKi fell asleep; though it has been only 15minutes since the plane took off”.
“Once I wake up I can’t sleep again.” He said.
“What a stubborn Donsaeng” I thought.
“But..What about you?” he asked me “Aren’t you tired? It’s about 5am”
“Me?” “Was he worried about me?” I thought as I felt a little bit happy “I’m fine too... It’s not like I’m busy with something…”
“Your face look a little pale” he stated, “You should sleep until we reach Japan, it won’t be long though.”
I was staring at him because I couldn’t say anything. Minhwan was too caring, it was not good for my heart…
“Are you listening?” he asked, then he shyly added: “You can lie on my shoulder if you want.”
I wasn’t sure if I should... my heart shouldn’t beat that fast when my donsaeng asks me to lie on his shoulder.
“Does resting on your donsaeng‘s shoulder makes you unsettled that much?” He said jokingly.
“Of course not!!!” I replied. “He shouldn’t know that I might be falling for him-I’m afraid that it would ruin our friendship” I thought; so I had to act as if I didn’t care. I slowly laid my head on his shoulder. “Ahh” I sighed in happiness, “Too bad that Japan is very close or we would have spent much more time like this.” I was obviously falling for Minhwan I couldn’t do anything about it. I closed my eyes but it was useless since my heart was beating so fast that I couldn’t sleep. Minhwan who probably thought that I was sleeping put his head over mine. The contact of his face let a mesh of hair fall in front of my face. He caressed it and put it behind my ear. He gently touched it once again before he put his arm around my shoulder so that I’d be more comfortable. I could feel his breath on my face. Minhwan was so tender; never with Jay had I felt such a sensation. My heart was about to explode.
The plane finally landed in Japan. But it wasn’t enough to wake me up. However HongKi’s camera’s flash was bright enough to wake both Minhwan and I.
I rubbed my eyes. “Oh that’s so cuuute” screamed the elders, Minhwan immediately stood up before I would notice him.
“Hey what are you doing??” he complained.
“What is so cute?” I asked, not yet fully awake.
Minhwan quickly whispered to HongKi's ear “Delete the picture, it’s so embarrassing-I don’t want her to see it.” HongKi then replied “I won’t show her nor will I delete it.” After a moment, the maknae said “Ok”. Then he quickly replied me “Nothing nothing they are just bullying me.” “Ah I see,” I said.
“We will be attending a TV program called Hangul Island,” explained Minhwan.
“In this program,” HongKi interrupted “We will try to survive in Japan by ourselves and at the end of each episode we will teach some Korean to the viewers.“
“Ah that sounds pretty interesting,” I answered.
“The recording of every episode won’t take us much time, we will have some busy days and some free ones, so we can always hang out.” said Minhwan joyfully.
HongKi smiled at what Minhwan said. The manager then cut into our discussion,
“You’re Minhwan's friend, right?” he asked.
“Yeah” I replied.
“We will start recording the first episode now so during that time you can go with the staff and they will show you your room.”
“Oh… ok” I said.
I went with the staff and they showed me FT island’s apartment, mine was just in front.
~During that time, before recording~
“You’re showing her too many signs that you’re interested in her.” HongKi told Minhwan.
“Me??” Said Minhwan, “What should I do then?”

“Why? She’s not with that popular guy anymore so now is your chance.” Hongki pointed out.
“Actually, I’m afraid she’d reject me, so for the time being I’m satisfied with our Noona-Donsaeng relationship.” Minhwan concluded.
“Really? You’ll suffer later…” Hongki warned.

I was the first one to leave so that we wouldn’t awake anyone’s suspicion.
I was walking in the street whilst thinking about Jay. I called him.
“Hey”
“Oh….hi”
“Oppa do you have free time today? “
“No today I m busy”
His cold voice scared me a little. Was he really busy or did he not want to see me? No way, Jay likes me and he wouldn’t change like that in only one day.
As days passed... indeed Jay really grew cold toward me he was always unavailable. I really needed advice from someone so I went to my friend Hyeo, she might know how to advise me.
In Hyeo’s room,
“I’ll start asking you some questions and you answer me and then, I’ll tell you why Jay is cold toward you”
“Ok” I said
“So first, have you ever cooked something for him?”
“No I don’t want to kill him yet.. my cooking skills are awful”
“Mhm..when you two go to eat at a restaurant, who pays the bills?”
“He pays for what he consumes and I pay for my meal”
“Why? oO Shouldn't it be the boyfriend who pays?”
“Yeah.. but I didn’t want him to.. I prefer to pay for myself”
“Huh such a weird girl…next…do you give him presents?”
“Yeah I often give things to him; I bought him clothes, teddy bears, a necklace and once flowers…”
“Ok ok so you buried him with presents”
“Y..yeah kinda”
“What about him?” she asked
“He once gave me flowers on... I don’t remember what occasion”
“All of what you did was wrong… guys like eating girlfriends’ food but you didn’t even try once to cook for him and it’s natural for boyfriend to pay the bill, if he doesn’t who does? You shouldn’t give a lot of presents to your boyfriend, especially when you just started dating. He’ll lose interest in you."

“Hmmm… you should know how a guy works. In the beginning when a guy finds a girl that he is interested in, he will do everything to show her how great, cute, handsome, strong and manly he is. Once he knows that the girl likes him back, he will make all his rivals disappears, which are usually the girl’s male friends. When the girl has only him, he can act the way he wants to; he can be mean, cold or whatever he knows that now she’ll never be able to leave him."

I had to find any random guy to be friend with… but who? As I was looking for someone Jay came towards me.
“Let’s go eat” he said
“Ok”
We both went to a fast-food and then I saw Hiro and his friends sitting in a table not far from ours.
“Oh look it’s Hiro and his FRIENDS! Wait for me here, I’ll be back”
{So I went to Hiro and his friends, trying to make him jealous but I left something extremely important over the table which was my cell phone. I received a message}
As soon as he saw it, he took my cell phone and read it. It was coming from Minhwan saying “I’m in the class number 12”
Jay got pissed off.
“It means that he didn’t let go of her!” he said angrily. He went to me and told me that he had tto leave urgently.
“Did he became jealous? Oh it was so easy.” I said, satisfied.
In high school, Jay directly went to the classroom number 12. He entered the classroom and punched Minhwan on the face right away. Minhwan fell on the floor.
“I already told you to not go close to Shinae … you bastard!!”
“You know what?” Minhwan told him, “I don’t have to listen to you” he finished as he stood up. He had a big hate towards Jay, beside the fact that he’s dating Shinae, he felt that this guy wasn’t right for her. He punched him back and kicked him right on his stomach. Minhwan’s attack, despite his age and look was really strong enough to make Jay fall on the floor. Minhwan was about to leave but Jay stood and knocked him with a chair, Minhwan fell a second time. He was in pain, Jay took advantage of that and hit him until he couldn’t move and then left.

After Hiro’s friend left, my cousin asked me:
“Aren’t you supposed to be with Minhwan, right now?”
“Yeah…But how do you know??”
“I just know… didn’t you receive his message?”
“hum… No I didn’t receive anything”
“Check your message box”
I did so and Hiro was right, he did text me half an hour ago
“Oh crap ! He has been waiting for me all that time…”
“Yeah go and find him, I guess he’s still waiting for you”
“Yeah” ^^
I went to find Minhwan but I was surprised to see that the classroom was all dark, so I switched on the light; Minhwan was laying on the floor. I rushed to him.
“Minhwan are you ok??”
He didn’t reply, he was in a pitiful state.
“Who did this to you??” I started panicking.
“It’s ok it’s not like I’m dead”
“But tell me what happened?”
“Stop worrying about me” he said with difficulties as he was trying to stand up, I helped him but he fell over me. He didn’t even have the strength to stand up. What do I do? What do I do? I called Hiro, he had a car that could take us to my apartment. So after 10 minutes, he came with a big hoodie and sunglasses so that nobody could recognize Minhwan.
When we arrived at my place, I was about to call a doctor but Minhwan didn’t let me because he was afraid that it would provoke other scandals. So I took my medicine box and I started treating his scars.
Minhwan still didn’t want to tell me who did this. Since I’m a paranoid girl, a thought came to my mind: what if there is something I didn’t know… and then I remembered something… Who read my sms?…what if it was Jay? He left at the same time when Minhwan texted me and adding to what Hyeo said, it sounds logical. For a second I was suspicious but like they say “Love makes you blind” I didn’t want to believe that Jay would be so evil. So I just ignored that thought. That day, Minhwan slept at my place. Since the apartment had more than one room, Minhwan slept in my bro’s room.
One day later,
“What will your manager say if he sees you in this state?” I asked him, worried.
“That’s ok, I’m friends with my coodi so she will cover up all the bruises."
“That’s a relief”
At school, I met with Jay, he had a bruise on his face. It gave me a shock, does it mean that maybe…I needed to find out so I asked him hoping that all this is just a coincidence.
“What happened to your face?”
“I just got into a fight with a bastard but it’s fine I kicked his ass off.”
Is he talking about Minhwan? I thought, after a moment I asked:
“By any chance…is that guy Minhwan?” He looked at me in shock.
“So you know huh?”
“Why did you do that??” I asked angrily.
“I don’t want you to talk to him any more, I already warned him but he didn’t listen to me so I punished him.”
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, what Hyeo said to me was true.
“How could you…? Minhwan is my friend.”
“Are you going to cry for that pseudo celebrity?”
I was shocked, somehow without noticing it, my hand slapped him… I couldn’t believe that I slapped the guy I like. So I ran away and went somewhere to hide.
After a lot of thinking I came to a conclusion: I had to break up with Jay, he wasn’t the one for me. He had followed me.
Minhwan, who saw everything, followed him at his turn and hid behind a tree.
“Why did you slap me? Is it because of Minhwan?”
“Yeah… and you know what? I’m really disappointed in you. I never thought you would be this kind of a brutal person.”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“It’s over between us!”
I was about to leave but he held my arm so hard that it hurt me.
“No. You will be my girlfriend until I decide when we should break up.”
“Oh please, you make me laugh!”
“You b!tch” he pushed me against the wall hard and started shouting and swearing loudly. I tried to push him away from me and run but he was much stronger than me.
Then at that moment, Minhwan came out and he took Jay by his shoulder and pushed him away to liberate me. Then he punched him hard on the face, Jay fell on the floor. Minhwan held my hand we ran away together.
*Minhwan saved me* I thought...my eyes where full of tears. We ran to the school roof. I couldn’t stop crying. Jay, the one I loved, was this kind of awful person. I couldn’t believe that because of him, I hurt Minhwan.
Minhwan was looking at me crying, with sadness in his eyes, he put his hand in his pocket and took out a handkerchief and then started wiping my endless tears.
“I’m sorry Minhwan, I’m really sorry…” I kept repeating to him.
He hesitantly approached his face to mine, I closed my eyes, our lips were about to touch but then... we heard a sound coming from the door so he backed away instantly. He went to see what it was and it turned out to be just the wind that blew the door.
We both felt uncomfortable so we just acted as if nothing happened.

Or is it because the phone booth was extremely narrow and Minhwan was too close to me. No way… Minhwan is Minhwan I can’t feel something like that toward him.
“We should get a cab” he suggested.
“Yeah…but where are we going?” I asked
“Hum…”
There were no places where an idol can go to without getting attacked by a crowd of fan. After a moment of reflection he said:
“ah I know a place… just follow me it’s not very far… let’s hope that nobody will notice me”
We get out of the phone booth and we walked a few kilometers. We finally arrived to the destination. It was a small… well let’s an apartment… not really one as it has only one and single room.
It was where he used to practice drums. As he switched on the light I saw a small room, with only instrument and beside the drum set was a small closet. Over the four walls were bookcases full of CD and decorated with some teddy bears.
“Before I became an FT island Member and even a Trainee I used to come and practice drum here. At that time, I rented it with some friends and I promised myself to buy this place when I became a celebrity.”
“So it’s yours now?”
“Yeah”, he said as he smiled to me, “till today, whenever I feel stressed, depressed or just sad I come here and play drum free style.”
“Ah this room is really cool.”
“So what did you want talk about?”
“Oh yeah about that…. Minhwan I’m really sorry “
“W..what??… why?”
“I’m a nappeun yeojaaa yaaahh”
He laughed and then said
“Don’t say that…”
“Since I became jay’s girlfriend I became less available… and I’m really sorry for that while you were always nice to me. Let’s find our friendship back, huh?”
Minhwan couldn’t help but to smile, he was happy that she wanted to be, at least his friend but how could he tell her that he wasn’t allowed to talk to her and that the guy she likes warned him to never talk to her ever again and that he brings only troubles to her?
His smile suddenly turned into a bitter one.
“Promise??”
He didn’t reply. She noticed his sad face.
“What’s wrong Minhwan?? Are you ok?”
He tried to avoid looking at her, he knew if he just gave her a small glance he’ll burst into tears.
“Minhwan please tell me! I’m really worried.”
His eyes got all wet, what could he tell her? He suddenly turned away so that she couldn’t see his tears.
I could tell that he was crying, I knew that what I did was really wrong but I’ve never thought that it would affect him that much. I couldn’t stand to see him like that; Minhwan was the symbol of happiness, youth and innocence. People like that shouldn’t be sad and I felt so awful that I made him cry. He was like my little donsaeng. Seeing him in that state, I couldn’t help but tearing too. I went towards him and put my hand over his shoulder.
“Please I’m really sorry! I can’t stand seeing you like that”
After a silent moment he said:
“Shinae, I can’t promise you. It’s not because I don’t want to but I really can’t, and I can’t tell you why. I’m really sorry.”
“Is it related to your fame? Is it because of the scandal? Your manager won’t let you meet me?”
What Shinae said, gave Minhwan a genius idea.
“Yeah I m not allowed to talk to you because of that incident. If they know that I still get in touch with you, I might be in big trouble. These days I felt like I was suffocating as I had lots of pressure. So sorry if I crie,d I was just stressed.”

“So let’s meet secretly” I suggested “I don’t want to lose you as a friend. We won’t tell anyone. It will be a secret between you and me… What do you think?”
Minhwan was astonished that she really wanted to keep their friendship no matter what, he felt so happy that at least she would share something special with him and only him
“ok” he said he wasn’t able refuse such a tempting proposition.
“So starting from Today you’ll be my donsaeng, ok?”
“ok… and you my Noona =) “

Later, Minhwan headed to the drums. He handed me the drum stick and said “try it”
“I’ve never played drums before” I said
“That’s ok… I wasn’t born playing drums either; there is a beginning to everything”
I hesitantly took the sticks and started playing randomly, it felt a little awkward as I was playing awfully but then I let myself play freely, though all I was doing was a huge din. But I didn’t care, the sound was terrible and Minhwan was laughing at me as he took a stick and started hitting the drum randomly too (like in Sarang ho hae (after love)’s MV at 02:46)
We were both laughing out loud.
Later I sat in front of the Piano
“What song do you want me to play?” I asked him
After a moment of reflection he said
“Unintended by muse , Do you know it?”
I played the intro as a reply.
He felt the pain in his stomach that you feel whenever you see the person you like. He couldn’t describe that feeling, was he happy? Because she’s beside him and he missed her a lot? Or is he sad because she likes someone else?Or is it the emotion from the music because he’s listening to the song he likes played by the girl he loves?
As she finished playing she said
“How was it?”
“It was beautiful” he said with a sad smile.
I smiled back at him without even wandering what was running through his mind. Minhwan was the only person with whom I can act the way I really am. I can say weird and illogical stuff but he was able to understand it and laugh. I was happy that I found back his friendship.
After a silent moment, I randomly asked him
“What time is it?”
“Time to leave” he said as he looked at his watch.
We went outside. The weather became even worse. The entire roads were blocked with snow. A random Passenger told us “You shouldn’t stay outside there are no buses neither cabs; you should quickly go find somewhere to hide in, a storm is coming!”
“A storm?!?” Minhwan and I asked in shock
“Yeah didn’t you hear it in the news? You should be careful” and she went away. Minhwan was calling his manager as we were heading back to his local.
“What did he say?’ I asked him as soon as he hung off
“Besides some yelling since I went without telling no one… he told me to stay there and wait until he finds a solution or the storms ends.”
“Oh crap”
We went back to the apartment. Though 20minutes ago, we were there together, we immediately felt awkward when we re-entered it. What are we going to do? Will we spend the night here? We had no idea.
As I was looking out of the window, the weather was getting worse as it became even darker.
Bip Bip , “I received an SMS from my manager”, Minhwan said
I immediately turned to look at him and asked “what did he say?”
“He said…” He started reading “ it’s dangerous outside take the blanket from the closet and spend the night there… tomorrow morning you can leave”
That’s what I was afraid of
Minhwan took out from the closet a blanket and put it over the floor. He shyly said “you can sleep here”
“that’s ok..”I replied immediately, “I don’t think I’m able to sleep over it, beside my bed I can’t sleep anywhere else so I’ll stay up until tomorrow… but don’t worry I have already done it before so there’s no problem ^^’ “
“Which bed? The one in America or the one in Korea?”
“oups he saw through my lie” I thought. I smiled in embarrassment
Few hours later, Minhwan could tell that I was tired
“You should really go and lie down; you look very tired “
“What about you?” I asked
He took his jacket and put it on the floor “that’s ok I will sleep on the floor”
“But it might be a little hard and cold?“ I asked, as I was worried about him “and your jacket is all wet from the rain” I added
“Last time I came here with HongKi Hyung and we both slept on the floor”
As he insisted, I switched off the light except a lamp that I put besides my blanket
“Is it Ok to sleep with the light on? I can’t sleep when it’s too dark.”
“That’s ok”
After 10 minutes of silence when I was about to sleep, he sneezed, after 20 seconds he sneezed a second time then a third, then a forth…and at his 6th sneeze he stood up sat over the small drum’s chair. I could tell that it was because of the cold floor and the wet jacket. “Arf I only bring troubles to Minhwan” I thought. He was such a well educated boy! Even though the floor was cold and he was extremely sleepy, he didn’t ask to sleep beside me. I knew that I could trust such an innocent boy so I suggested to him
“Minhwan…” , arf it was so embarrassing to ask, … “We can share the blanket”
eNo..i’m really ok”, he said as he was extremely embarrassed.
“I wouldn’t be able to sleep if I know that my donsaeng stays awake in the cold and I’m all asleep…. I really trust you so you should come and sleep over the blanket…unless it’s you who doesn’t trust me?”
“No it’s not like that”, he immediately replied
After a moment of reflection, he finally came and slept beside me. We were both looking at different sides, I couldn’t feel Minhwan’s presence, he was like a rock beside me. After a moment I fell asleep.

She fell asleep immediately, it doesn’t seem to matter to her. Minhwan turned to see her. Her sleeping face was so beautiful that he couldn’t take off his eyes of her. As he was caressing her hair softly, he thought,

After he finished writing, he put the paper beside him and lied won. He gave her a last glance and closed his eyes. At that moment, she huddled him! He opened his eyes in surprise. At the touch of her face, he could tell that she was extremely cold. He didn’t know what to do, his heart was beating so fast. Lots of questions started running through his mind, should he just push her back, do nothing or hug her back?? In the end he held her, so that she feels warm and he closed his eyes.

The bright light of the sun lit up the room. I began stir from my sleep. I’d never thought that a night on the floor would feel so nice. As I opened my eyes I found myself in Minhwan’s arms. I got surprised at first but then I noticed I was fully covered with the blanket, which explains why I wasn’t cold while Minhwan’s face and arms were freezing. He was protecting me from the cold. I gently moved on the side and I covered him well. I looked at him sleeping. He had a sweet smile on his face and I couldn’t help but smile too.
“This little guy is really something” at that moment, I really knew that despite his age he was able to protect someone. And then I felt something in my heart, it wasn’t painful but it gave me a small shock. Am- I falling for Minhwan? No that can’t be.. I love Jay… BTW Jay… it’s been a while since I thought about him I looked at my phone, there were no missed calls. He knew that I was outside, wasn’t he worried about whether something bad happened to me? My mood totally changed. I felt a little upset.

Two hours later I was extremely tired of waiting but I couldn’t leave until I meet him. It started raining extremely hard.

“Well before let’s go to somewhere else.” Since we didn’t have an umbrella he removed his jacket and hold it over our heads in order to replace the umbrella we run until we met the first phone booth so we both get in.

I laughed. My heart was beating so fast I couldn’t tell if it was because I run a lot or is it because I finally could see him or is it….

I opened my eyes it was my Oppa…. He came to save
“Oppa” , I said with a shivering voice, my eyes started tearing
“Get out of here It doesn’t have anything to do with you”, yelled Myong sun
He ran toward me and pushed her away, the two girls who were holding me went away
“Are you ok?”
“Yeah…”
He held my hand and get out of the art room I was surprised to see all the students in front of that classroom
“About the pictures you saw on internet… you all misunderstood them… Shinae is my girlfriend and the person who took those pictures just wanted to create a scandal.”
“Then how do you explain it?”
“Few days ago, Minhwan, Shinae and I hung out together … she was having some hard time here because she was away from her family that’s why she was crying so we were cheering her up and at the moment when the pics were taken I wasn’t there because I went to buy some cigarettes that’s it whoever took those pictures only wanted to make a scandal, right Shinae?”

All the girls were in shock there were even ones who left crying.
Later the crowd went away.
Jay looked at me he could tell that I was under shock and then he asked me
“I saved you this time … oh by the way I wanted to talk to you about Friday.. I’m really sorry I couldn’t come because my bro was ill and I had to take care of him”
“That’s…that’s ok”, I stuttered
He smiled at me satisfied that I wasn’t angry at him
“But about the lie I told…”
“Oh it’s ok… you’re not obliged to keep lying because of me….”

I smiled at him

Jay left the classroom… it was the last thing that Minhwan wanted to hear he already knew that he had to give up on her, he already knew that now she belongs to Jay but just hearing it from him just make him even more pissed off. In an act of anger he threw the table which was beside him, He wasn’t actually the type of person who’d hit inanimate object in anger but it was already too much for him he had to exteriorize it.

I totally forgot about Minhwan all my thoughts where focused on Jay Oppa so I went to my locker as I opened it I found the album and a small paper where it’s written

At the Five treasure island’s dorm,
Minhwan was lying on his bed, lost in his thought

I have this habit to whenever I listen to a new album I put the album in shuffle and the first song I hear its lyrics will have an impact on my life [yes it’s weird I know xD though it rarely happens irl]

30 minutes later…
He didn’t come yet… should I call him?, I started dialing his number but no answer
One hour later…
I don’t think he’ll come… I went outside I was walking along the street I couldn’t hold my tears when I stopped in a park and I sat on a bench… this is so embarrassing, why would he ask me for a date and then he doesn’t even show up, it doesn’t make a sense…he should’ve at least told me arf…. It was too beautiful to be true…
“A… are you ok? “A familiar voice asked me
“Huh? Minhwan? “I said while trying to hide my tears *this is so embarrassing I don’t want him to see me crying*…”yeah I’m ok…”
“I was on the car and I just saw you, You don’t look well”, he said as he sat beside me

“No”, replied the maknae shyly she’s a second grade-er

“NOONA?!?” Shouted Won Bin and HongKi together

“Why are you yelling?”, asked the disturbed JongHun while he entered the room with Jaejin
“Minhwannie grew up ~ he got a girl”, said HongKi all excited and proud

“It’s not like that”, said Minhwan defending himself, “we just talked today she came from America so I wanted to give our Album to get an idea about what kind of band we are …it’s just that…. Do you think she will like it?”
“Of course she will”, answered HongKi full of confidence
“How is she? Is she pretty?” Asked JongHun
“Yeah… she’s quite different from the other girls … she’s not the kind of girls who tries to act cute she’s more the mature type”
“Ahhh~”
But I was wandering… will she be interested in a guy younger than her?”
Meanwhile in the way back home, I was sitting on the bus, beside me, hyeo who keeps talking about her love life.
“Ahaa”, sighed the girl, “I’m so unfortunate with boys… I just broke up with my boyfriend.”
“This how life is…”, I replied
“But there is this boy, who wants to date me he’s one year younger than me though… would you accept if you were in my place.”
“No”
“Why? “
“Because I don’t see younger boys as men. I prefer mature guys.”
“Why? What does age has in dating?”
“Well, you see hyeo, a girl gets mature earlier than guys does …. So it’s better that there is at least 3years age gap between a guy and a girl so that they can get along with each other.”
“Aha that sounds logic, since when you’re single? You seem to have lots of experience.”
“Since I was born …but this is the sad reality that I can’t say out loud”, I thought, “4years”, “arf why did I lie?”
“4years …whoa it’s quite a long time ….so at that time you were….13 years old … no wonder America is quite different from Korea hahaha”
“well I can’t go back on my words now”, “yeah hahaha ^^’”
This was the way I used to see things… at that time I was unconsciously following those old stereotypes that we used to believe in. As in fairytales the prince is always that handsome boy who has everything, the look, the wealth, a huge castle and the most important thing is he could make his princess happy and always take care of her… deep inside my heart I wanted to live in such fairytale.
So back to the story after I finished what I was saying the bus stopped and he gets in…. the prince I was talking about earlier… he was all I wanted in a guy, the look, he was taller than me, he looked mature and old enough to make me fall in love at the first sight. He had that kind of Aura full of pheromones that you can’t, not fall in love with him. I couldn’t move and
